Cloudy urine, without any other symptoms usually indicates dehydration, in other words you are not taking in enough fluid. The human body needs 2liters a day to function optimally.
If you have frequency, urgency, burning on urination, you likely have a bladder infection and need to see a doctor.
Stones, most often are indicated with severe flank pain, fever, and blood in the urine.

The scenario you described is typical of a urinary tract infection/cystitis. If not treated the urine can become cloudy and foul smelling. Often with the history and physical exam a urinalysis and culture are performed to specifically identify the infecting organism. If this is a first time infection in a young women who is sexually active treating with antibiotics is all that may be required. If these infections come more frequently, develop kidney infection/pyelonephrites further investigation is required. Either way you should see your doctor to further investigate this condition.

Normal urine is clear yellow. Urine you cannot see through (as in a pee specimen cup) is considered cloudy and indicates an infection is present.

RE:
Cloudy urine?
Sometimes (not all the time) my urine is cloudy. What could be causing this. I have had kidney stones in the past...I read somewhere that this could be a sign of more stones...I hope this isn't true. Thanks!

sometimes cloudy urine can just be a sign of dehydration. Drink allot of water and see if it clears up. If you have any pain on urination, pain in your lower back, or visible blood you need to go see the doctor.

If you had kidney stones, it may very well be that you have more. But....it may be a bladder infection, or it could also mean that you are not drinking enough water. So, the best thing to do is go to your dr and have it checked out.In the meantime, dont worry. :- ) Lots of luck!

It doesn't sound good. Drink plenty of water you need to flush out what bacteria may be in there. See a Dr soon you don't want to start having pain
