If u mean an ulcer in the eye you are talking about an internal inter ocular lesion and it is therefore not visible to you. More likely you are refering to a corneal ulcer. this is a serious condition. You will be experiencing acute pain and photophobia and should attend an A+E immediately.
However if you are talking about any localised redness on the white part of your eye that does not cause any pain, this is likely to be harmless.

A corneal ulcer is often not easily visible to the naked eye. Symptoms often include redness, pain, sensitivity to light, watering of the eye. A corneal ulcer is serious and if left untreated can cause permanent damage and loss of vision.

Search on Yahoo under images for corneal ulcers. I found many pictures of ulcers there.
