I'd be very tactful and find an excuse to leave before the friend realised. If the situation is more complicated, such as repeatedly discussing the same problem, I would have to say that although I supported my friend there was no point in going over and over the same things. If I thought (s)he needed more support I would encourage her to find this. On the other hand, aren't we all a bit boring sometimes, and haven't people tolerated us for a time?
