I would believe because all of the "sports" listed some sort of physical activity from the participant(s). Also as popular as poker maybe it wouldn't be fair to include it without also including the other card games...spades, rummy, solitaire, hearts, etc.

curling is popular in other countries other than the US. Poker is a game- it is probably covered under another category.

well i think you can find poker questions in the gambling section in entertainment. But more people curl or at least have watched it then you think. Besides many people probably have questions about the game because it can be pretty confusing.

I think poker would be more likely included under "games" or "hobbies," since the most athletic thing you do is sit your fat *** in a chair and throw cards on a table.
At least in curling, you have to throw a heavy rock and sweep. But as to why it has its own category, good question!
