I am assuming you mean something like world peace..If thats the case, no I dont think so. The nations of the world will always be selfish and violent leaders will use their nations people to assert their power and influence..

if by "united earth" you mean united in the same sense that the states of the USA are united, sure: we're already almost there.
the only thing holding us back is last-minute quibbling over titles and how wealth is allocated. when you see the conflicts (for instance, in the ME), remember the scale of the earth -- and then contrast the size of the dispute against, for instance, the riots in L.A.
the "unified government" represented in that case about 270M people, and maybe a few thousand were rioters. Scale that up to the whole earth, and you've got a population approaching 6B: the wars in the ME are -- in the grand scheme of things -- comparatively inconsequential.

It is a tough question nonetheless, however I believe the world will never be at peace. The Middle East has fought for years and will continue to fight. That is most of there way of life. They are use to fighting in everyday life. Who knows what will happen I just know I hope we will all still be around in the next few years.

Ever is a long time.
In my opinion, there will always be people who think it's easier to take from somebody else rather than do something to earn it.
That leads to crime and violence. On a national scale that leads to threats and war.

No, people are by nature self centered. They will look out for themselves and their family. Their family may be their genetic family, their geographic family, their ancestral family or any other way you want to slice up the human race. As soon as one needs to sacrifice to benefit others there will dissension and fighting.

I think that the only time we will unite as a planet is when we have to face other beings from other planets.
