I would suggest you download Zonelabs ZoneAlarm program and install it. It is simple and easy to use.

Do you mean software or hardware firewall? Software is just as easy ad installing other software packages. You will then need to tweak and set up preferences to be even more secure. if you have xp sp2 you already have one.
also if you use high-speed internet that has a firewall as well.
though if you wanted more protection zone alerm is the best i used.
