ranma 1/2, inuyasha, and mason ikoku. they are action-y and romantic at the same time! all three have great story lines, and never get boring. mason ikoku is the most angsty and romantic. all of these are by rumiko takahasi.
inuyahsa is about fuduel japan, a time when deamons roam the earth. it's also about destorying a very pwerful demon, naraku, getting all the shards of the shikon jewel before naraku does, and long lost loves, as well as some stories in present day japan.
ranma 1/2 is about a boy named ranma, his father genma, genma's friend mr.tendo, and tendo's three daughter's- kasumi, nabiki, and akane. ranma and genma travel to china to fufill gema's promise to tendo- that ranma will marry one of his three daughters. on the way, genma and ranma go to the acursed springs training ground, for their martail arts training- ranma is a master of martail arts, as well as genma. genma falls into the spring of the drowned panda. ranma falls into the spring of the drwoned girl. now, their half-panda half-girl whenever they get wet with cold water! hot water changes them back....
soon, ranma and genma arrive at, tendo training hall, and ranma's secret is discovered ( genma's too), and he and akane are forced to be married.... eventually.
this series is about comedy,secret loves, and action.
mason ikoku is about the young man, mason ikoku, falling in love with another woman who comes on campus. he has to deal with his crazy roomates, romantic rivals, and emabarrsing situations to claim his love.

work by rumiko takahashi is good if you like funny stuff check out ranma, inuyasha, hana yori dango, fushigi yuugi, kare kano, love hina, azumanga daioh, check out the stuff published by tokyo pop or viz!
