I remember them! I don't know what ever happened to the actors. God, I love the old 70's kids stuff. Some of my other favorites were HR Puffinstuff, Gigglesnort Hotel, and Land of the Lost--favorite character was Chaka the Pakoonie (sp).

I probably need to get a life, but I loved the 70's as a kid! :)

This show was originally The Kroft Super Show. Captain Kool and the Kongs, a fictitious band, showed serials like Wonderbug, Bigfoot and WIldboy, Magic Mongo, Electrowoman and Dynagirl and Doctor Shrinker. Later they brought in the Bay City Rollers and the Kongs became secondary. It was a good Saturday morning show - a real period piece. The skits they did were Witchie Poo's Horror Hotel and one that took place on a island with Pufinstuf and Sigmund the Sea Monster. Each episode the band played one of their songs.

The shark jumped before the show aired, a fact that the Rollers themselves have confirmed. A few years ago, VH1 had a "Behind The Music" special on the Bay City Rollers and of course, the subject of this show came about. Les the lead singer said that when they did the Krofft show, their stage moves were choreographed and there were explosions. He then mimicked one of the stage moves and they cut to a clip of him doing a move on the show, followed by a flash pot explosion. He described the show as a "load of crap." It is relentlessly cheesy, but no cheesier than any comedy/variety program from that era. Kind of a funny time capsule.

I'm not from the 70's but I can tell you that if you check your Sunday paper in the Parade section, on the front inside page you can write some hollywood people and ask them what happened to the actors and they'll tell ya what ya need to know!
