I hang out with alot of people who are "true punks, goths, emos etc..." then I hang out with people who like that kinda music, but dress is I guess "normal" clothes, they dont try to be punk but just like the music....then I know ppl who dress punk, listen to it, but dont know anything about their culture and way of life....

the last one you mentioned are posers. those who dress to the T like them, but don't know why or who they are. they do it simply to fit in and nothing else. basically trying to be cool by acting how other people act and dress just so they don't feel left out.

I'd say only the last are posers- which basically translates into sheep following the herd. The second is probably the category I'd fit in. I listen to punk music, and my clothes are kind of influenced by that, but mostly would be categorized as normal as I don't feel the need to wear the "uniform" of punk in order to fit in.
