You dont have to be classified under anything. Just like the music you like. You dont have to stop litsening to Pop if you start litsening to rock. Dont worry about a steroe type. Just be who you are.

You can become whatever you want, when I was 10-11 I liked N'Sync and Backstreet Boys and all the pop stuff. But with age comes maturity and knowing what you like more and more. I'm 16 now and I've discovered my true music taste which is reggae and laid back music with folk influence like Jack Johnson and Mason Jennings. If you're starting to not like pop music as much and rock more, good for you, you're growing up and actually liking music for music, not because everyone else likes it. And you're further proof that rock n' roll will never die. Good for you

Absolutely!
I am a girl and when I was your age, my brother introduced me to metal and I never went back. I turned into a Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer freak! Pop doesn't even compare. I am now into my 30's and I am still a metal freak. I still go to see Overkill, Megadeth, Slayer and others. Age is just a number!

It's totally normal to change interest in music when you're growing up. I love both pop and rock music, and I think music in general is beautiful so I say you can't go wrong with whatever you like to listen to!

You can like what ever you want to like. Don't worry about what anyone else says, as long as what you're doing makes you happy. In fact, it's good that you're into rock, instead of rotting your brain away with dime-a-dozen pop princesses.

of course you can, and if your worried about what other people think...DON'T! the best thing you can do...is be yourself and love yourself screw what everyone else thinks, the only person you need to worry about making happy is yourself....after all...if you don't look out for #1 who else will? As you get older your taste in a lot of different things will change, it will make you a more complex interesting person.
