The latter, yes. The former, no.

One of the core planks of the Democratic platform is the idea that the government is supposed to take care of its citizens. As the constitution says, "promote the general Welfare". Their interpretation of that is to take from the rich, and give to the poor. Like Robin Hood, but on a federal level.

Most Democrats believe in a strong national defense. Where they differ is in how to achieve that. The current majority of the party believes that defense starts at home, and the our soldiers should stay at home unless there is a compelling reason to send them elsewhere.

But Democrats do have their hawks, who think the military should be used as a political tool to accomplish foreign policy. Just as Bush is currently doing in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Seems like we are weak on defense and strong on the redistribution of individual wealth right now... and that's with a repub house, senate and presidency...

The Democrats don't know the meaning of a strong defence.....to them the military is just an obstical in the way of them taking full controle of this country......just wait and see....it will happen if they get the presidency in '08...

As for there redistibution of wealth... the tipical democrate says if you got money and had too acctualy work for it ....then we are taking it away from you and spending it on our social programs for some dead beat loser who refuses too get of his lazy *** too get a job.....after all its not fair that your rich and he is poor....

"Weak on defense" is the Republicans belittling the seriousness
of the situation in Iraq with bogus,cowardly attack ads calling democrats "jihadists" and "wanting" the terrorists to win!
