well i breastfed my baby through the whole time so i couldn't blame it on formula and she was absolutely healthy otherwise too, no gas or indigestion or anything. she was happy and pretty small too (within normal range), so it wasn't the case of overfeeding either. and still she was spitting up up until 7-8 months old. my doctor said it's perfectly normal and varies from baby to baby. some can spit during the whole first year. so i wouldn't worry though i understand how messy it is but ask your doctor if it concerns you anyway

Every baby is different. My twins are 7 months old and they still spit up but not as often as they did when they were very small. My daughter stopped spitting up when she was maybe 5 months old and I can't really remember when my older two stopped but I would imagine it was somewhere around that age. Your baby will continue to spit up and there isn't really anything wrong with that. I mean unless he can't keep anything down but it's a normal thing that babies do. Nothing to worry about, just a bit of an annoyance for parents.

I breast fed, which is best, so I didn't have this issue. Common sense, however, compels me to mention that if your baby seems to not be thriving due to the spitting up TAKE HER TO THE DOCTOR!!!! If she is happy and fat then it could be a case of overfeeding. Do you stop feeding once she communicates she has had enough? Are you burping midway through and afterwards? Are you introducung heavier foods? Write it down and ask the doctor during the next visit.

If he spits up alot he may have reflux! I've never really had much trouble with spitting up except for the one baby that did have reflux, they have a formula made for it now that may reduce the spitting up. Also you could try adding a little rice cereal to his bottles since he is old enough for that.

It really depends on the baby. I don't recall my daughter spitting up that often so not all babies are the same. Try using Mylacon, you can buy it in the baby section. They're drops that you put in the milk for gas. Gas not only comes out from the bottom but from the top as well. Ask your Dr. about it if your unsure!

You may want to mention to the doctor that he spits up alot. Babies who are allergic to certain formulas spit up more often than babies who are not allergic. My son was spitting up alot and they changed him to a soy formula and the spitting up almost completely stopped pretty much immediately. Too much spitting up isn't good.
