You may need to determine what really makes you two best friends. During life, sometimes people out grow relationships that they once held very close. Your friend could be going through something and she doesn't want to bring you down since she knows that you are going through somethings yourself. Your friend may also see that you are going through things and doesn't know how to deal with you or your dilemma.

Maybe going to someone older that you know to talk out how your friends recent decision makes you feel could help. There are lots of places on the net that offer counseling and advice one is www.girlshrink.com. They offer more professional advise than I can give.

Listen, I know you think cutting yourself takes away the emotional pain, but it still leaves scars which you will regret years from now. No one is worth hurting yourself over. Try to take your mind off your friend for now. I know it will be very hard but try watching T.V., reading, joining a group or anything that helps take your mind off your friend. When you start feeling a little better try to make new friends and talk to anyone who will listen. Talking helps a lot. You could even try finding a chat group on-line somewhere. Good Luck!

your best friend really wasn't that great of a friend. She/her would stop you from cutting, which is a really horrible thing to do. Make new friends and forget her. You don't deserve this type of punishment. I've had friends like that, but I've made more friends and moved on with my life. Forget that so called friend. I know it hurts, but u'll be alright!
