I am buying a Motorola Razor off of a friend. I currently have cellular one as my service provider. If he had T-mobile, and I switched the SIM cards, will it work?

There is a good possibility that it could work because Cellular One is more like a distributor than an actual carrier, in fact they have an agreement with T Mobile. So technically speaking, it might work. If you have doubts - try installing your SIM card in to the phone before you buy it and see if it works. The worst thing that could happen would be for you to have the phone unlocked from T Mobile. The seller should be able to do that before he sells it to you. T Mobile will actually help customers who've had their plans for 90+ days to unlock their phones.

Good Luck

If it is a RAZR V3 and he is on Tmobile - yes, it runs on the same frequency. You need to have him get it unlocked by T-mobile first so you can completely transfer it over, however to test it you CAN put in your sim card and you should be able to make and receive calls (on YOUR phone number). You won't be able to access internet, etc until you get the phone unlocked and you call Cellular One and speak to their tech department and ask them to send you the settings for the phone (they will do that free)

It all depends....if the phone you are buying is unlocked you can swap out SIM cards. If not it will not work!

Yes. But you'll have to get it unlocked for like $25 but try first maybe it is already unlocked.
