My boyfriend and I are going away for a romantic weekend. I want to give him a gift at the start of the weekend to build his excitement. It doesn't have to be much (also, prefer nothing too sexual). Any ideas?

Oh, well, you know him best, so it's not really for me to say... but...
I suggest something home-made. Like a scrapbook of pictures of both of you together, full with captions and little notes and knick-knacks attached.
Or something to commemorate the occasion. For example, this might be a slightly hetero tradition, but sometimes guys give their SO's a bracelet or necklace with the time, date, and event inscribed, if it's a first-time event, such as the first time he says, "I Love You" or the first kiss, or first trip, in this case.
Either way is sure to warm his heart.
If you meant "build his excitement"-- excitement being his libido-- without being too overtly sexual, perhaps some aphrodisiacs? Strawberries and cream-- a tart or treacle of some sort should do the trick.
If it's something sweet and simple, a nice cuddle is always the best way to start ANYTHING romantic, if you ask me.

The only idea I have is that you know him better than any of us so I think that you should give him a gift that you know would build his excitement. I think that you would give him the best gift that you think that you wouldn't be able to give him. Good luck on your going away on your romantic weekend.

Give him 6 fresh roses and then secretly hide six silk ones in your bag. Once you get there and get settled in give him 2 more. Then the next morning give him two more and at the end after you have packed, go put the final two in his seat in the car for a total of 12.

where are you going for the weekend? If the beach why not a swimsuit, sunglasses and or hat.
They to find him a piece of clothing that fits the weekends activities. This way after the weekend everytime he wears it, he'll think of the weekend.

Depending on what he likes, take him to a nice dinner to get him in the mood for the weekend. Could be his favorite restaurant or some place new that you know he'll love

A small scrapbook so you guys can begin builing a book together you will enjoy. You could either get a very small one and get one for every vacation/get -a-way or a large on and just keep adding to it...it will be nice for both of you later and they are not expensive at all!

How about a shirt that you'd like him to wear to dinner on Saturday night. Something that really brings out the color of his eyes!
