My ipod is smaller than the songs on my computer. It won't update my entire library - not enough space. Sooo, what I do with mine is create a playlist called 'ipod' and fill it with the songs I want on my ipod. Then once the ipod is plugged in go to preferences and select ipod from the tabs. Check the box that says 'update ipod from selected playlists' and just tick the 'ipod' box and untick the others. Now, when you update your ipod, it will just have the songs on it you want and you can delete the ones you don't want just by deleting them from your 'ipod' playlist.
The danger of deleting songs straight from your itunes library is that you may delete them from your computer as well! Deleting them from your 'ipod' playlist means that they are still there in the library.

Semtex is good! That will delete EVERYTHING!

OK, Sorry
Are you using iTunes? You can get iTunes EVEN on a Wondoze PC! The iPods are actually designed to work best with iTunes, and if you allow iTunes to organise your Music library it will work best of all.
In iTunes, select your ipod, and you should be able to delete stuff.
Sorry, I use an old 40 gig pod, from which I have never deleted anything yet, so I am not really talking from experience

If a Nano is the same as 4GB ipod mini, then u delete them through itunes. Right click on the sone then scroll down to clear. If u wanna keep them in itunes but not ur ipod, just uncheck the songs u dont want, then next time ur ipod updates, it wont add the unchecked songs.
