Singling certain groups of people out based on race is not the answer. What about the Oklahoma city bomber? What about Christian fanaticals who terrorize as well? Your idea of profiling only causes more harm than good.Tell me,what if they were profiling your race, would you not complain at the airport?
God Bless

Racial profiling isn't going to help anything. There are terrorists who aren't of Arab decent. Fanatical Muslims/terrorists can be white, black, purple, green, etc - therefore racial profiling really wouldn't work.

Racists cause more trouble.

Your'e playing right into the hands of the Islamic terrorists. Osama bin Laden wants you to become everything they say is bad about the West.

I really have no problem with racial profiling. If they were out looking for loud, outspoken big-mouths like me, then I'd be in real trouble!

i have to agree, that in some cases racial profiling can't be helped, however we can not depend on it as the only way of designating possible threats, especially in airports.

It's a currently popular "feel good" panacea. It won't work because terrorists are not stupid. If they know little old people are not going to be searched, then they will begin to use little old people, or kids, or blue eyed white little girls. The solution is, and has always been, to find and kill the terrorists. Wherever, whenever, however.

Yes but not an entire group of individuals should be punished for such raging acts of violence. It is def getting bad though, I flew this weekend in the mist of this mess, and I was scared outta my mind. I hear you, something has to happen, but what?

Hmm...the white shoe-bomb guy, Timothy McVeigh and his partner...and that's just the ones you've happened to have heard about. Focussing on one race may yield some extra 'true positives', but it misses whole other segments of the population...it's not only questionable ethically, but dubious in its effectiveness.

I think whatever steps are necessary to keep people safe are appropriate ones. It shouldn't be taken as a means of offending people but a way of preventing future incidents.
