I wouldn't want beauty if a life of sickness had to be the sacrifise in order to be beautiful. I would have to choose fat & disfigured. Besides...with gastro surgery...a nip & tuck here & there and some major plastic surgery...both fat & disfigured can be corrected.

I've been fat and disfigured all my life, it's over-rated.

Really, I've been overweight to at least some degree since I could walk, and I was *born* with a severe case of pyloric stenosis (intestinal muscle blockage) that nearly killed me as an infant. The surgery I went under to correct the condition left me with a *lopsided* muscle wall for my abdomen, which in turn left my spine more than slightly lopsided...

Combine this with the really nasty bad skin on my father's side of the family, and yeah....I was disfigured. My own mom considered my an "ugly beast" of a baby if the word of my aunts (her sisters) was any indication, and have spent most of my life being held at arm's length, either literally or figuratively, in a social sense.

Never mind for the moment, ok, that my parents were themselves more than a bit messed up. Point is, I've been fat and disfigured and somewhat intelligent in a society (of the United States) that *hates* people like this.

It is so, *so* overrated. Beautiful people have it so much easier, even if they have a serious illness, because then at least others *will try* to help them instead of sweeping them into the gutter.

Give me the second choice seven days of seven...I already *have* the serious illness though most folks say it ain't so. ;)

Weight can be lost. Disfigurements can be corrected through cosmetic surgery. Severe illnesses, however, may result in a remarkably shortened lifespan characterized by suffering. The wise choice is the former, to be fat and/or disfigured.

Obviously I wouldn't want either one. If I *had* to pick, I'd say fat and disfigured. I might be overweight with deformities, but at least I wouldn't be bedridden and sick, with only my mirror to gaze at to enjoy my beauty. LOL

It is quite difficult to translate into English but we have a saying :
"It is better to be healthy and rich than sick and poor". So I would be beautiful and in a good shape.

Fat and disfigured. I'm not *that* shallow.

Given your choices, I would volunteer to go to Iraq and be blown up. I think that choice would be more humane.
