I have to say that I think the Stillers (my hometown team!) have a shot at it, especially if they can run a more balanced offense (that is, can pick up the passing game to offset the losses to our running game) this year. With Roethlisberger's preternatural and ever-increasing poise and our magnificent Super Bowl XL MVP WR Hines Ward, I think we can do it if our #1 draft choice (Santonio Holmes) stays out of trouble!

As for you, kyle b, you have NO IDEA what you're talking about. How do you figure Cowher's potential departure will "tear them apart at the seams"? Look how they pulled together to get Bettis his championship in what they knew would be his last season!

Listen, I LOVE Bill Cowher, and while I would hate to lose him as a head coach, if he chooses to leave the team after this season, I think he's earned that right. Our offensive coordinator (Ken Whisenhunt) would almost surely be offered (and I'm almost equally sure would accept) Cowher's vacated spot. I think he's ready for a head coaching position, and I think we'd be lucky to have him.

End of story.

No. But they will be good again. They may make the playoffs, but I think some other AFC team will win the Conference. I'm thinking Baltimore, New England, Cincinnati as more likely than the Steelers this year.

Nope, their season is already turning southward. Already talk of Cowher not coming back for 2007. Do you know what that is doing mentally for the team? Going to tear them apart at the seams.

I hope so!! One for the other hand! but I don't think we'll know for sure until we get to see the starters in for an enitre game and not the first drive only.

Unless they can replace the Bus, they'll get close, but no cigar.
