Ladybugs do not have nests. They lay their eggs in clusters. The eggs are orange in color and are very tiny. They can be found on the UNDER-side of the leaves.

Follow this link to a site that will show you pictures of all of the life stages of the ladybug. Then you'll know if you have ladybugs on your vines... whatever you do, don't spray. Not only will you kill your pest, but you'll kill of your ladybugs (which will probably eat the pest and do a great job of fixing the problem!).

Hope this helps!

Lady beetles, or ladybugs lay their eggs in clusters. If you have alot of lady beetles, chances are you have alot of aphids. Lady beetles eat aphids which is good news for your grapevine. The green bumps you are describing is probably from a fungus or something other than the beetles. I suggest you contact your local Extension office and take in a leaf sample. The horticulturist there will definitely be able to diagnose any problems your vines are experiencing. Search for you local extension by typing in (your state) Cooperative Extension - then look for your county in a listing and give them a call. They know the flora in your location and know what types of problems plants are experiencing.

Good Luck

Ladybugs don't live in nests, they reside where insect pest populations are high. Such as in crop fields, gardens, and in the canopies of trees.
