ok so if you really think about it human technology has really only advanced in the last 200 years or so. when i say technology i mean anything from steam boats to nucular power plants to cell phones to gas powered anythings, basically anything that has made our lives in this modern type of world easier. do you think that we would have been better off if we never developed into the society that we are today? with all of the technology stuff out there, cars, oil drilling, bombs going off left and right... if we never had the knowledge of all this stuff then do you think that the worlds ice caps would have started melting? if all this continues at this rate do yoiu think the world as we know it will exist say 500 years from now??? what are your thoughts on this topic...

human destruction of the environment absolutely disgusts me, but it is not new
yes we have been doing more damage in the last 200 years, but remember that there are many areas that used to be covered by forests and have a lot more animals that are now quite barren because of deforestation a long time ago. Just look at the middle east.
Unfortunatly I don't think humans will ever stop what they are doing until it is far too late (if it isn't already)

Gee, I wonder if all of these raised temperatures and polar icecaps melting have anything to do with the fact that there's been an increase in the activity of the Sun, rather than global warming theories?

We haven't messed up the planet as bad as environmentalists claim we have. The earth goes through periods of heating and cooling. It's pretty arrogant to think that one species of animal has the power to destroy the earth in just two centuries. Our mother is stronger than that.
