The Clash! I love them for so many reasons. Their live energy was captured by few artists in history for one thing. They once played 16 shows back to back in the streets of New York (quite a feat). Most of all I love them because they were always pushing music to new places. They didn't care about what was popular or the trend at the time. They are cedited with being the first major artist to ever record world music in the UK or USA. 'White man in Hammersmith Palais' being that tune. They did so many different kinds of styles including being one of the first white bands to ever acknowledge rap as a true art form. Most importatly they were a band that spoke and sang about things that matter. The Clash was a band that played for the blue collar types, the social street level types as well as the academic sorts. A band that was never afraid to speak out politically and wrote tons of songs about such issues. Current celebrity's from John Cusak to Elizabeth Hurley have pointed out the greatness and social relevance of The Clash to this day. Angelina Jolie has a 'Know Your Rights' tatoo on the back of her neck which is a reference to The Clash song of the same name. Director Martin Scorsese among others has used their music repeatedly on screen and even cast the band in a movie. I hope alot of you decide to check this band out! In the words of a recent Rancid song ' I'm not just another American consumer/ I'm dancin to a whole different drummer/ an I keep on listenin to the great Joe Strummer/ because we know in the music/ we can live forever/' Somewhere in Rock n' Roll Heaven, Joe Strummer is still kickin ***!

The Damned because they are talented and don't stay in the same musical rut like a lot of bands do! They also put on "over top" live shows and you never know what might happen!!

Breaking Benjamin... They are the best rock band out there right now. Both vocally and instrumentally. All their CD's are unique and great. Also they sound as good live as they do on their CD's.

I love Depeche Mode and Chevelle. Why? Cuz they don't constantly cuss in their songs, they don't complain about their girlfriends dumping them, and their music sounds awesome.
