I am a makeup artist and here are some tipsand steps for you.

First:

Make sure u pick the right one for your skin type oily, normal, combination, etc

Second:

First make sure u have the right color that blends in with your skin color, so u wont look to wild or anything.
make sure u have clean brushes, and make sure u clean you face with a facial mask or facial wash so that everything is clean and fresh, dont forget to mosisturize.

Third: Is get ready to apply here it is.

1. Apply a concealer that is one shade lighter than your foundation. Dot it on over any blemishes or under-eye circles and blend with your fingertips or a makeup sponge. If your concealer tends to cake, apply eye cream first.

2. Choose foundation that matches your skin tone exactly. Apply it in dots over the central part of your face, then blend it out with a makeup sponge or your fingertips until it covers your entire face.

3. Use a loose or pressed powder to keep foundation and concealer on longer. Use pressed powder to touch up when you're away from home.

4. Do your eyebrows next. Use powdered eyebrow shadow on brows instead of pencil, which can often look unnatural. Apply it with a hard, slanted brush.

5. Choose three colors of eye shadow: light, medium and dark. Use the dark only to line your upper eyelid, in a fairly thin line along the upper lashes. Use the medium shade for the crease and the lightest shade for the area under the eyebrow. There are many variations on eye shadow application techniques.

6. Apply eyeliner. Use a cake eyeliner with a damp, thin liner brush, or an eyeliner pencil, and line the lower lid below the lashes. Line only the outer two-thirds of the lower lid, or all the way across if you're trying to achieve a darker look. Line all the way across the upper lid (just above the lash line and as close to the lashes as possible), or start the line where your lashes begin.

7. Apply mascara to upper and lower lashes, in two thin coats to avoid clumpiness. Choose brown mascara if your coloring is fair; black or brown-black works well for darker coloring. Or try a colored mascara such as navy or plum for fun, but don't go too bright if you want to be taken seriously.

8. Smile to find the apples of your cheeks, and apply blush to the apples or below, whichever you prefer. If you have to blend in blush, it's too bright.

9. Choose a lipstick color that's suited to your skin tone and that's perfect for your day look. You can mix colors and textures to suit your moods and your outfits.

10. Line lips after applying lipstick, not before. That way you won't end up with a dark circle of lip liner after your lipstick has worn off. Avoid combining very dark lip liner and pale lipstick.

Other Tips:

Choose brighter or darker tones for a stronger look.

Clean makeup brushes by gently washing them in warm water and mild gel shampoo. Air-dry them overnight.

Don't skimp on makeup tools. High-quality tools make application easier and faster.

If you decide to curl your eyelashes, do this just before applying mascara'never after. Insert your eyelashes into the curler, squeeze just once, and hold for a few seconds.

I hope that helps.

Make up ages your skin. My wife is 30 and has never used it at all. Great skin quality, nice colouring of the lips etc. Frankly most men find it a bit of a turn off. Sssssh, don't tell Mom I told you but on the whole men don't like nail varnish and hairspray. Foundation too is for women trying to hide their age. What do you want to look 5? Seriously this is one of the times in a woman's life, prior to 50 basically, that they don't need make up. Also the less you use it, the better your skin will age. How do I know this? I'm not a medic or anything like that, just as a result of talking to other men about what we like, and also being in a marriage with a lovely woman who I would hate to use make up. She's perfect just as she is.

When it comes to wearing makeup, you have to decide what your reasons are. Some woman wear makeup to cover up acne, poor completions, and others wear makeup to create more dramatic looks, emphasize eyes, lips etc. etc. Depending on your reasons and/or the look your going for, it will determine how you actually apply makeup. I would suggest looking at different magazines or even people to see how their makeup looks. Just remember to use makeup as an enhancement to the features you already have. We do not want you looking like TammyFaye.

Go to Macy's and ask for a makeover. They apply the make up and they can give you a tutorial on it and you can buy the stuff they use.
For a cheap alternative, just go to walmart, pick up the basics:
Foundation (Liquid or powder, I use both.)
Eye shadow.
Eye Liner (I prefer liquid, but it's a trick to applying it so start with either a pencil or the crayon one.)
Blush
Mascara

Once you get all that, just experiment for a day. If it looks like crap, just wash it off and try again. Just keep trying until you get the jist of it, that's what I did.

If you go to any major department store, they'll usually do your makeup for free and teach you the proper technique... sometimes you need to buy a certain amount of products for them to do this, but if you're planning on buying anyway, it's a great way to get a professional opinion on colours and techniques!

If you go to the links below, they have tips for applying certain make-up products. You can also do a virtual makeover and see what colors you think would be best for your complexion. I would also recommend asking friends of yours, your mom, or going to a make up booth in a mall. Any of those people can give you good advice on wearing make up.

with a facewash and an eyemakeup remover its very easy to remove. as long as you remember not to make a lline when you are applying eyeliner, youll be fine. i have a smudger on the end of my eyeliner pencil, and nothing looks worse than a plain line under your eye! ask your friend what colors would look best for her wedding, and maybe she can help you!

You could go to one of those places like marshal fields, or the ones with the expensive makup places and they can show you, but they show you hoping u will buy something they put on you or show u how to put on.

Foundation is easy, find one that matches your skintone, then shake it up and i usually use a makup sponge to apply it evenly.
but dont goop it on like its a mask. (less is more=pretty)
