I prefer college for several reasons. Not that i don't watch pro, I like college better for it's pagentry, rivalries and heart that the players show because they realize that after that point, only the best of the best of them will ever play ball again.

I prefer college football to pro. I've attended many more college games than pro games as I live 120 miles away from the two closest pro teams to me (Colts and Bengals). There is just a different kind of excitement at the college game. You can say it is a business in college sports with all the money TV throws at the major conferences and teams, but for most of the college players, their playing careers end as college players. No doubt the level of play is higher in the NFL, but I would much rather watch or attend an NCAA game.

This a great question, and one on which people can go 'round and 'round forever. In my opinion, there is no comparison ~~ the NFL is much better. For one thing you are watching professionals in the NFL. Even college players admit that there is a giant leap which they have to make to play with the pros. I got turned off years ago with the play where the QB takes the snap, rolls out and either fakes a pitchout to the halfback but keeps it, or pitches to the halfback. I can't even remember what the play is called, i hate it so much. That play was run over and over and over ad infinitum, and I got sick of watching it and haven't watched college ball since. Somebody help me with the name of the play, please. The only thing I don't like about the pros is the dancing and celebrating that is allowed after a touchdown is scored. I think it lacks class and is very unprofessional. And I don't like the one foot in bounds allowance for a pass reception, nor the rule downing a ball carrier if he falls on his own. It's very exciting to watch a player fall down and get up to try for more yardage.

College all the way!! NFL is too political. There is no more love for the game in the NFL. Its all about the mighty $$$ and getting individual recognition. There's nothing like being in Death Valley on a saturday night when LSU is playing Florida.

College football and basketball are businesses for the colleges just as the pro teams are businesses for the owners. There is more "electricity" and excitement in a college game and seems to be more of a team sport. The game moves faster than the pros. There does need to be a better playoff system to determine the nations best. Pro games are more show by "superstars" and too much arguing with the refs. The games are slower with less action. I like both levels of competition and really can't say which is better, it is like comparing apples and oranges.

Of course I prefer NFL. College has too much teams, puzzling methods of qualifications, sometimes bulky scores and sometimes scores with only two kicks. I enjoy some college games on the season, especially the two last years final bowls have been exciting; but NFL has all the emotion and the best players.

College is better hands down. I mean don't get me wrong I love every kind of football. But in college is pure the players play harder and have passion for the game. The players in the NFL play like so what like they are affraid to get hurt. I mean if made that much money i wouldn't be affraid to get hurt.
