Motivation: I am interested in testing whether people tend to perceive their own skin color (or that with which they are familiar) as fairly uncolor-ey, whereas people tend to perceive other skin tones as fairly color-ey. ...which may be why many languages use color words to refer to other ethnicities, but often not their own.

Now, someone answered that they are oriental, and that they perceive themselves as yellow. Oh, really. So, you look like a banana?! Come on, answer what color you really perceive yourself to be. For example, which combination of fancy Crayola crayons would you use to get the color right.

My ethnicity is English, Swiss, French and Native Canadian- Cree. My skin tone is olive with reddish overtones.

Interesting fact: It is exactly the same as my Swiss ancestors. Many people who are a quarter Native look much whiter than I do.

I'm Filipina-American. My skin (right now) appears light tan, with that yellow tint that Asian complexions tend to have. I haven't been getting much sun.

Caucasian (of Polish/German extraction). My skin's an off white- that stubbornly refuses to tan unless I collapse from sunstroke- first. It's pretty non-descript.
