If you are an employee, you need to go to the state Board of Labor and file a complaint immediately.

If you are an independent contractor, file a criminal complaint in municipal court for the bad checks and file in small claims court for the money owed to you.

You "keep hoping they will pay so you can work again"??? Huh?
Don't be an idiot.

You probably can get unemployment if you quit because your paychecks were bouncing and you did not get paid.

Why did you let it get this far to begin with? Once can happen to anyone, but after the second time, I would have been out of there.

BTW i'm a not person-friendly-middle supporter of loose markets and capitalism. more often than not, the authorities has a tendency to make issues worse even as they meddle in organization, the commercial gadget or economic concerns. save in options even as the authorities pursued the noble objective of encouraging abode possession? save in options the S&L disaster of the 1980's? i'm firmly confident that economic mess grow to be one hundred% the US authorities's fault. it truly is a lengthy-winded way of holding that we are going to all be more effective efficient off if the US authorities isn't allowed to run the mastercard organization. in case you don't love the words do not use the cardboard. EDIT: might want to the authorities help the middle type by technique of putting a maximum cost for a motor vehicle? a house? A loaf of bread? Do you spot the position i'm getting at? for my area, the authorities can help the middle type by technique of encouraging loose organization. for sure, this isn't like same as saying there might want to be no regulations. i wager we disagree about this, takes all varieties i wager.

I really don't understand why you sit there and don't try to earn an extra-money somewhere else.Justice will come, but it is not the solution to sit and wait.

You need to report them to the Labor Board. In the meantime, take them to small claims court, take your losses and find another job.
