I think some people MIGHT degrade themselves to get the BEST ANSWER- but, I just give my opinion and see what people think. Even if you don't get best answer, you still get 2 points, so there is no point in trying so hard! Just speak your mind and give a tasteful answer! I think that voting a one-word answer as Best Answer is completely pathetic, because a lot of people on here actually want good answers to their questions, and giving a one word answer is not helping. It's just trying to get 2 points for answering. So, I think that people should start giving good answers instead of fighting others for best answer-- the points aren't really worth anything, and it doesn't matter-- just tell what you really think and maybe if you get lucky your truthful answer will be picked!!

I too try and give an honest answer. If it gets picked great, if not oh well. Not everyone here is out to be like you describe. But isn't it just like this kind of site to bring out the best in people.

No I just answer honestly and if my answer is chosen as the best that's great, and if it is not that is fine too. At least I can say that I did my best to answer honestly and be as helpful as I could.
