How do you put double flared plugs in a stretched piercing?

It seems by the way they look that it would be painful, even when your ears are fully healed.

you shouldn't be putting double flare plugs in until your ears have relaxed after each stretch then it wont-or shouldn't be- painful at all. if it is the flair is to big or you havent waited long enough for the skin to relax.

Most first timers get a piercer to do it for them, and it doesn't really feel good at all, or does it? Some people enjoy the sensation of pain, so it's good for them. Otherwise it's like a statement, and sometimes statements are painful.
