I already know that the answer begins with PURCHASE A YAHOO PLUS ACCOUNT TO GET POP ACCESS, and I even found this:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/mailplus/pop/pop-06.html
But I still don't understand for sure if I will be able to physically move all my old emails that have been sitting in my inbox to Outlook. Will it happen automatically or is there a separate process? I don't care nearly as much about the new emails that I'll be receiving (I could just quit Yahoo if that were the case), but I need bring along the emails I've gotten over the years. Has anybody done this?

Oh, and it's not Outlook Express I want to use, it's Outlook 2003. Will this make a difference?

after you purchase the mail plus service and you setup outlook to access your yahoo mail account from pop.mail.yahoo.com, outlook will download all emails from yahoo. before yahoo started charging for using their pop3 server, i used outlook express. it worked well...

please note: by default, after outlook downloads the emails, it will delete them. if you want the emails to remain on yahoo, then you will have to change this setting.

it does not matter if you use outlook or outlook express. both will work.
