You can be pregnant when your on your period so yes you can take a test. Is your period lighter than usual? If so and youve had unprotected sex then take a test. Sometimes at the very start of a pregnancy the hormone isnt high enough to detect and you can still bleed a little for various reasons, you may get a faint result but this is still a positive. If its a normal (for you) heavy period then its unlikely you are pregnant.

There are some women, who can be preg, and still have a small bleed, and also still be preg. Its just a little bit of blood still there, but its is only very small, if you think that you are preg, you really do need to take a preg test, because you may have been preg, and are losing the pregnacey, My neighbour bleed a small amount during her 3 month, but having a scan, found that the baby heart beat was fine... so it can happen, get it checked out for your own health, and the preg, if you wont a baby...good luck

I had period like bleeding for 2 months of pregnancy. I called my ob/gyn about testing for pregnancy durring period they said it will not change the hormone that the body and placenta give off durring pregnancy.
My friend had bleeding period like durring whole pregnancy but it is not considered a period if pregnant just irregular bleeding. Good luck either way. Also you could go to doc's and see about a bllod pregnancy test. but home tests should work just fine

Why would you want to? If you already got your period I know you can be pregnant and still get your period but I would just wait in till my period was done it's like a whole 7 days will it really make a difference if you just wait. But I have heard you could take it on your period but it might not be completely accurate as if you didn't have your period. Personally I would just wait

If you are having a period, you are not pregnant. It is very rare indeed for pregnant women to bleed regularly during their gestation. You need to talk to a nurse at the Doctors and get some information about pregnancy and contraception.

As some people still continue to have periods whilst pregnant, i would wait till the period ends and then check. The hormones in your body are what the test is for and will still show up in your urine.

Yes, a pregnancy test will be accurate even if you are bleeding. It is not possible to have a period and be pregnant--but abnormal bleeding in pregnancy is possible, but this isn't a period. If your period is typical in duration and flow and was on time then you aren't pregnant.

Why on earth would you want to conduct a pregnancy test when all the indications are that you are not pregnant and having a period?

You could take one but if you are on your period then it is pretty good indication that you are not pregnant. If you are sure you are pregnant despite the period you should see your doctor. blood test is the most reliable way to find out.
