I teach my 3rd graders that acute angles are "cute." We use our hands to demonstrate how small they are and say "acute" in high-pitched voices. For obtuse angles, we use our hands to demonstrate how big they are and say "obtuse" in a deep "fat" voice. Then for right angles they just have to remember that they're 90 degrees. It works pretty well for most of them. Is your daughter having to learn more than just that? It should be pretty basic for 3rd graders.

well..make sure she knows what an angle is. Show her a picture with a ladder against a wall......the door frame...and explain that there is a way to measure these angles just like you measure how long something is or how much something weighs. Once she understands what an angle is...then explain the process of putting the protractor...etc. step by step
