can i cheat and make the number go up? without people actually viewing it?

Just visit your page without being logged in and constantly hit the F5 key (refresh). Myspace should register that as individual hits.
however, if MySpace logs visits by IP address. You are kinda outta luck. The only way is with dial up and that's to connect, visit your page, close, disconnect and then redo the process so that you pull a different IP address from the pool allotted to your ISP.

i don't think you can cheat, but you (without) being logged in can view your page a lot of times, and that counts.
