I love the look of short, rounded black nails, but I am far from gothic. Do you think it would be bad to wear them if I don't even try to dress emo or gothic in any other way?

Yes, be you, that black nail polish thing is just a sterotype. If that's what you want to wear I don't see anything wrong with it.

Black nails are not gothic. Well, if gothic people have them you kind of assume they are, but most celebrities use black nailpolish. It's very pretty on rounded nails like yours. You should totally wear black nail polish... plus, who cares what other people think. Go for it! :)

try adding designs to it, so it looks cute and funky. if u dont want to look gothic,then put black nail polish, with like a pink or light blue tip. or put a little colorful flower or a very decorative tip. my friend had black nails and put a white tip and a little white flower. what i do when i put a dark color, i put a layer of clear nail polish with glitter over it so it sparkles. and don't worry, if ur nails are black but ur outfit isnt, then ur not gothic. dont worry about other people and look the way YOU want to look and who knows? u may start a cool trend:)

no, i like to wear black nails but to make them gothic i paint little red smiley faces on them, black nails are not just gothic.

It's a cute, modern style. Actually, Sienna Miller and Mary-Kate Olsen aren't gothic and they style their nails with black polish. Go for it!

MMMkay. I wear black nail polish && I am total prep! I think that black nail polish is very evening classy look. Go for the black nails. I love them, && obviously you do, too. I would wear black (or any color of nail polish for that matter) right now, but I can't... Cheerleading... Can't wear any nail polish... Except clear... :[

no way! i feel the same way, short, rounded black nails! hehe.
my nails are always painted either red or black.
if you wear something chic and a bit more dressy, it will look fabulous. i'm more of a casual dresser, but still classy. pair your dark paint with darkwash denim jeans, white tank top, tan flip flops, and a dressy jacket. you'll look GREAT.

nope i don't think they really MEAN 'gothic'
it depends on what else you're wearing :P
so if you go for all black, it would give the gothic impression
but if you wear glitter or pastels, it would mean something totally different!

I reccomend to get a nail reducing from a close-by nail salon. the pros have a fashion of growing to be your nails seem so mushy and properly, elegant. i'm specific that they might have black nail polish and make it seem elegant.
