I feel your pain man... And I can sense sarcasm. It makes me grit my teeth every time I see all these 'tards on here who have no spelling or grammar skills whatsoever. It makes you wonder if they work that hard at being stupid, or if it just comes naturally.
They also don't know the difference between then/than, where/were, it's/its, woman/women. It seems that the spell check button right above the box where we all type in our answers eludes them as well....

Thank you, seriously. There are too many people out there that are either too lazy to type those extra few keys or that seriously haven't mastered the fact that they're two different words & meanings.
Speaking of..."they're", "there" and "their" are another set where people just can't get straight.
And I like the sarcasm, it's shedding a light on the ignorant : )

Other famous pet peeves include confusion of the following:
its (the genitive* form of it) and it's (contraction for "it is")
There (a place or a dummy subject), they're (contraction for "they are") and their (the genitive* form of they).
*We speak of genitive rather than possessive pronouns because the term genitive includes cases beyond simple possession. For example, "their college" does not necessarily mean the college "they" own, it can simply mean the college they attend.

It's not that people don't know it, they just flat don't care.
I'm also amazed at how many people get upset over it, in the greater scheme of things, isn't it rather trivial?

You're right and I hope you got that off your chest.
Now can you tell folks about the difference between "then" and "than"?
