The Eagle. Came out in the early fifties. It was bigger than the usual comics, and was in full colour. It used to have exploded illustrations in the centre pages that showed the workings of trains , boats and planes etc.
It also featured Dan Dare - pilot of the future and his sidekick Digby. And as for the Mekon of Mekonta on his hovering scooter--thats another story!. It cost 4d old money.

There was an artist called Leo Baxendale, who worked on the Beano and others. He had a really unique style (remember Grimly Fiendish?) and was the only one who could make me laugh out loud.
One in a million!
Thanks for that question, he had disappeared from my memory until you asked that.

I'm only 15, so I like the newer stuff--Get Fuzzy and Foxtrot are my favorites. But my all-time favorite comic is Calvin and Hobbes.

I also used to read Nickalodeon Magazine when I was younger. :)
