I went to a meeting and they said 1 of every 5 americans had a cell phone I thought it was way more than that just checking how many of you have a cell phone and how old are you. Thanks

I think the age groups would differ a lot. If you look at people 18-30 it's probly 1in 20 don't.

of course people that use the internet are probably far more likely to have a cell phone, so polling people on this site won't necessarily give you an accurate cross section of the american people in general. that being said, yeah of course I have a cell phone, everyone I know has a cell phone, and yeah, it's gotta be more than 1 in 5. that figure's probably 5 years old or something. maybe more.

I do. I am only 13 but I have one so my mom can stay in touch with me. I think it is more than 1 out of 5 now. Probably about 50% of the people have them. If it is any help, my mom and I got rid of our home phone and switched to having to cell phones because it is less expensive. That might explain the population of cell phone users!

I've had a cell phone since I was 18. I'm 21 now. I don't know very many people that don't have cell phones anymore.

No. My daughter has the cell phone in the family. I don't even like being on the phone at home, and I don't need one attached to me. I'm 42, and lived through most of my life without something that others insist they can't live without.

ok i am 12 and i want a cell phone and i really could get some use in one becuz some of my friends are so darn lucky they just get them right off the bat and i am freaked out that they do have them.

Just got one for the first time in about 5 years. Fortunate for me too because the day after activation I was involved in a 4 car collision. I was able to call for help. Too bad I hadn't yet learned to use the camera feature.
As for my age; let's just say I'm in the middle of life.
