Wondering if you have to start all over again or if the muscle stays there?

It takes from 4 to 12 weeks to lose the muscle mass you have built up...depends how long a period of time you had exercised before stopping. If it was years of exercise, it will take 12 or more weeks to lose what you had. However, don't be surprised if you are a little sore when resuming your exercise...that is normal.
