No two completely different chemicals. Ethanol can be made from any fermenting vegetation not just corn. There are vehicles being developed that run on used vegetable oil but Ethanol is another thing entirely.

FYI Sugar ethanol is cheaper and more effecient but is overlooked by the government because of corn lobbyists.

No, that is not true. Most fuels already have 10% ethanol. The newer vehicles that are made to run on ethanol run on 80% ethanol. Ethanol is similar to gasoline as a combustible. Corn oil is closely related to diesel. Corn oil can run in a diesel but not in a vehicle running on an ethanol blended fuel.

They are different technologies.

Ethanol is alcohol made from grain. primarily corn.

Corn oil, used and virgin, are being used to make bio-deisel fuel. Bio-deisel can burn in deisel engines.
