I have a phone number... is there actually a free way to find out who this person is? Or extremely cheap would be great to, I don't want to waste much money on this guy. I found a website for $15 but now it's telling me I have to wait... they don't know if they have the information.

I know the carrier is AT&T... I know the general area, although one site said it's in Springfield, MO... another Joplin... and another Greene county? I'm guessing it's a cell... I just want to know who this is. None of the answers given to me were helpful. Everyone knows the police cannot do anything... i've had a stalker before and they aren't going to take it seriously unless something actually happens to me.

DO NOT CALL HIM. If he is a stalker and you call him it will only make him stalk you more. You need to keep a log of the dates and time he calls, drives by, threatens you. Then bring that to the police and they will help you get a restraining order. I have gone through this situation and it sucks. You are going to seriously have to rearrange your life. You will have to get another phone line and only give that to the people that need to contact you, and then when he calls on your current phone number let the answering machine pick it up, and save all the messages to bring to the police. DO NOT respond no matter what he does. I had a stalker for many years, and then he disappeared, but now he has shown up again. Your life will never be the same, even when you think you are safe there is a chance he is still out there. Be very careful, buy mace, and get a security system.

With this website you can enter the phone number to get the names if the number is listed. This page will also tell you if it is a cell phone along with the carrier info. I used it this morning to try and find out who keeps calling me and haging up. This site is free.
I've tried the phone company route as someone suggested, but it doesn't work in my area.

I used the below site before -- you put in the phone number and the name and address should come up for free. I don't know how often they update the site, so they may not have new listings. Also contact the phone co. and the Police. Good Luck!

If you know the "Stalkers" phone number, is it because they are calling you on the phone? You can call your phone company and tell them the deal. They can suspend your phone # for a few weeks, or if the person threatens you, they can proceed along those lines. It is illegal to use the telephone to threaten someone.

Anywho.com is a pretty good resource for reverse directory lookups. However if you have a stalker then you should contact the police. Attempts to get rid of a stalker on your own normally fail. Good luck!

Have you tried reverse directory? If you have a phone number you can call the operator and give them the number and they will give you a name and or address. If it is a cell number, you're pretty much on your own. Good Luck :)

If you type the phone number in your google search bar, it will give you the persons name and address, if the person has a listed telephone number.

change your number and get a restraining order, plus get the numbers from your cell phone wireless provider and ask them if they can trace the number or just let them know about the phone number and phone calls

If you go to http://www.411.com you can do a reverse number search. If the person is harrassing you can call 1-800-518-5507 and talk to a rep about illegal calls.

Get someone else to ring them for you, then at least you know if it's someone you know on a different number, or it actually is a stalker.
