I find the concept of 'hate' difficult to understand.
I don't know why if you disliked something so much, you would let your 'annoyance' consume you to the extent where you actually 'hated'.
I know how to love - that comes naturally to me and I can honestly say I hate no one. Even those that have done me wrong and lead me down the dangerous paths have been faced with in my life - I cannot say I hate them either.
I do not believe in any religion so it is not some higher being (such as a God) that makes me want to feel such compassion towards all beings - but just how I am naturally.
I simply do not feel the need to hate as it eventually destroys the mind and poisons the soul.
Hatred as we all know can lead to death, destruction and is the source and centre of all acts of evil in the world.
Don't let yourself become victim to this hatred otherwise one day you will find that the hatred has converted into an undeniable fear that won't go away until you can learn to love and accept again.
Hope I helped xx

Hate is a socially constructed reaction. We assume its an emotion but its only a behaviour we use, one that it is passed on through other peoples behaviour towards others, or us, or in media...etc. It can be stopped be being aware of this automatic reaction. It is important to be able to see the one that is 'hated' clearly, with an awareness of this reaction in ourselves, so we can help to change or avoid the situation that causes the reaction, or simply so we can tell the other person that the reaction is taking place. Also, a lot of hate is simply unexpressed anger and frustration from day to day life which is suppressed by our socially constructed roles (the dutiful son/daughter, the gentleman, the mother of children), and from our youth when we were told off for expressing strong feelings such as anger, or sadness. Just an opinion, but that's what I think.

I think it is possible to hate someone. But sometimes dislike is putting it in a nicer term. Everyone can hate in different ways depends on the person and the situation. Hate usually turns into something more serious. Crimes are commited out of hatred. You hate someone when you have no pity for them in any way possible. You wish them the worst in everything they do. That is just my thoughts on it.

To dependingon comments:
I was of a similar nature, until I found someone who hated me with such a passion and so nonsensically and incessantly that I started hated them.
It took a long time, cos I believed in what you say, but now I believe that there is a treshold to everything, and that if pushed hard enough, anyone can be made to cross the bridge and start hating.

Hate is a basic way for humans to deal with something /-one we do not understand. Take racism for example. The more we know about different cultures the less likely we are to hate people because of their culture (and/or skin color). I think the same applies to individuals. I might hate Pete because of something he often says to me. If I discover the reason behind why says the things he does I'll probably hate him less.

Hate is a strange thing and shouldn't be used lightly it should only be used if someone is a real enemy...we usually tend to hate out of jealousy ,envy & confusion if you take the time usually the person you dont get along with will actually have a lot of similarities

I think for the most part, we hate what is different, better, unknown. but sometimes we hate because of others wrong doing. I don't think we all hate in the same way, and no I think we say hate about things that we might not actually hate.

This is so simple: it's much easier to hate than to love. Loving takes courage. Hate takes nothing, but your own rage projected upon someone else.

I don't believe I hate anyone, there are people I dislike.
Hating people gives away your power, and only makes you feel bad.
'Bout the only thing I can safely say is I hate Liver, Hominy, and Lima Beans.

When we hate something/someone we do it with a burning passion. We hate things when something or someone is a threat to our security/safety/status/loved ones.
