that I don't see that too much in the scene here.. I'm in the midwest, so its not like San Fran here, but still.. I was just wondering if there were a lot of effeminate males out there in the community, where you live? Do you/they try to mask it? ... just curious.

::smile:: thank you, Princess... I'm not ashamed of how I am.. I guess I was, more or less, taking a poll of how many were out there and how they felt. But I *do* appreciate all the answers. :)

bet you've got better dress sense than a lot of the others...effeminate/femininity seems to add that extra dimension to a person...would go shoe shopping with you any time! :)

Effeminate mannerisms and speech to do not make a person a homosexual. If you are truly thinking you are homosexual, there are plenty of gays in any large city in the midwest. KC & Chicago are two of the largest. I know some men who have these mannerism that are 100% straight.
I live in CA, came from KC. It's pretty much the same in both places. You either are or you aren't.

I've been told that I am effeminate in some ways. Usually when I'm talking and my hands move here and there:) I don't try to hide who I am. Straight guys even have effeminate ways. I used to try to mask it when I was younger, but I am an adult and know better now. Some males act effeminate. Some females act masculine. It's life.

I'm in NYC. While I don't consider myself effeminate, we have plenty of everything here in all sizes, shapes and colors. It's great to be in an area where there are so few taboos because, like it or not, the gay community tends to be a very shallow one. Young, butch, muscular guys are our idols, and it can make you feel very insecure or inadequate if you fail to maintain proper perspective.
Stay true to yourself and don't ever feel ashamed of who you are. Be the best person you can be and be proud of it. If your present community doesn't have much to offer you, consider relocating somewhere you'll feel more free to be yourself and grow.

Listen to austinguurl....I live in Austin too and for being a Texas town we have our share of fems. However, I'm originally from the midwest and knew my share of effeminate (sp?) mean there too...of course, that was Chicago so maybe it doesn't count.

You don't look it at all - and I have the biggest crush on you! I just think you are so fun and nice and cool! Don't worry I am harmless!
I have a soft voice and am very well mannered - that is considered femme by some - I don't bother to act any different for anyone I enjoy being myself too much.
I live near St Louis Mo.

A man act how he wants for himself, that's how I see people anyways.
You shouldn't be ashamed of how you act.
I'm just not attracted to effeminate guys.

Well, I'm not gay but some of my friends are. Most here are effiminate, some aren't. We live in Georgia.
Most of the ppl I know flaunt it. There's no reason to be ashamed =) Just find a group of ppl who accept you for who you are.

Please report to New Orleans, Key West, San Fran, Boston, NYC or Austin, Texas immediately if not sooner.
You need to be who you are -- and one of these communities is a better match for you. And you might have better dating opportunities

I know a number, although we are not deeply involved in the gay world honestly. We go dancing once in a while and we have some gay friends -- and yes, some of the nicest and cutest ones are feminine.
