The best colors for brown eyes would be most definately brown. You will want to use a brown shade on the lid, from there you can put almost any color in the mid section to open your eyes. I have brown eyes, and with brown as the base, I pull off greens, blues, purples, etc. It's how you apply it. Also take a look at how your apply eyeliner. I only apply eyeliner on the top going only half way. Applying eyeliner all the way across and around will actually make your eyes appear smaller.

I think you should try a white eyeshadow, all the way to you eyebrows, take a light pink from the middle of you eyelid, down. then a brown right across the bottom of your eyelid. Then take your powder, and go across it making sure it all blends in. Pinks and whites make brown eyes stand out, especially with yer tan skin. Good Luck. :)

It all depends on your hair color, not just eye color. Your eyebrows should match the color of your hair, otherwise it will look made-up. You can go 1 tone lighter or darker - for example, if you have black hair you can use dark brown color for your eyebrows, if your hair is light brown - you can either do light brown or a bit darker than your hair, but just a little bit. Also keep in mind the shape of your eyebrows, if they;re full then adding more dark color will make them look even fuller, if they're fine/thin light color will make them look thinner.
Hope that helps!

A friend of mine has dark brown eyes and tan skin, and she always wears a light dusting of a deeper plum that has a gold undertone.

I don't know what the perfect color might be for you, but I have read and heard that you should not wear the same color shadow as your eye color. I think lavendars, greens and light silvers would probably look great!
