What would be your best advice to someone consideing going to school to become LPN?

My best advice would be: do the RN instead!

Spend the extra year or two in school and become an RN. LPNs get to do very little. They're really little more than glorified nurse aides.

That you'll wish you had gone all the way and gotten your BSN or RN in a diploma program.
I started out going to a 4 year university and got my BSN...a lot of nurses out there start going back to school again once they see how much more responsibility and money people with a BSN make.

Do it. Employment for life.

Good luck getting in a program. Wait lists are LONG. Teaching doesn't pay near as much as actual nursing.

go for it. we need more nurses becasuse of the demand for it. nursing is a wonderful career, im sure you will be happy.
