If name calling is your last resort, then,do not answer.
If you do not agree on what is said in the question, just say so or support your answer with tangable evidence. No more Hollywood please.

It is called ignorance. Usually people that don't know much use this tactic as a defense to cover their ignorance.

I don't know why either but I agree wholeheartedly with you. I have looked at a wide variety of answers over the last few weeks and whilst there are many sensible and constructive replies, there are far,far too many replies from people who are silly, plain stupid or both and some from what I consider to be really quite dangerous people.
All you have to do to recognise a cretin making a reply is read the next answer connect it up to the first answer and you have a matching pair of idiots, who by the way are very easy to provoke!

Here's a saying for you, a Romanian clishee that will probably shed some light in this direction. "When the fox can't reach the grapes he says they're sour" Name calling goes hand in hand with incompetence. Easy way out? Perhaps, but in no way dignifying.

I agree, although from looking at the answers you have got not everyone does, especially the first answerer. It is just the way of the world I'm afraid and you have to like it or lump it I'm afraid! :)

cos there are a lot of pratts on here, and an answer gives them 2 points no mater how crap it is, U could just answer x on every question and still get the points

Insult earn cheap points on yahoo answer. There are those who do not know the answer, they write '2 points' and they still get two points.

unfortunately the question is sometimes so poor it actually warrants name calling. However name calling if you don't know an answer is nothing but childish.

unfortunately, both sides do this if a good point has been brought up....and they can not argue it, they name call, they should go and research it, and then admit the opposition is right or wrong.....when it comes down to it......those that do this, and can not admit they are wrong, are idiots......we are all wrong sometimes....it si not a disgrace
