Shat...as in Shatner? Is his name a bad word now? Probably not getting a rise out of anyone because it's part of his name.

Yes, I have to say it makes a lot of sense. The more ridiculous the sensors get, the more clever the ways to get around them. "Shat" is too funny. It makes its dual meaning quite clear without breaking any FCC rules. Brilliant!

it doesn't make much sense.
i lived in the UK for 22 years and towards the end of that time some more swear words were used before 9pm (the watershed) while other similar words weren't allowed.
in Canada, sex scenes are shown any time of day where as swearing is sometimes censored really late at night.
whoever decides what's offensive needs to be a little more consistent.

I think the FCC is getting more relaxed with cable companies. I've heard the word sh!t used on TNT. One that I don't understand is that when someone says goddamn, they bleep the God but leave the damn. And some radio stations will bleep any reference to cigarettes but leave the word @$$ or even f*ck in some cases. Basically, none of it makes sense to me.

It does make you wonder. Its one of those loopholes. But in the grand scheme of things, **** is not the worst word to say...so it is kind of funny that comedy central got around the law.
I'm sure someone, somewhere is all worked up about it, though.

There was also a spoof that starred Andrew Dice Clay (I think) and they used the word "duck" instead of F**K, and it was hilarious. Why in the duck does anyone care about this SH*T anyway?

perfect sense - you can say 'freakin', besides, that could be his nickname "Shat" short for Shatner
