I just feel it is a double-standard to be able to say anything you want against Christianity and be told it is free speech but if someone dare says anything dissenting toward any other religion, it is considered sacrilege??

you make it sound that everyone on each corner of the street is out mocking religions left and right...i dont think there is but a miniscule amount of people that engage in this sort of thing and for you to put your question this way misleads and inflames the tenuous balance that exists between the religions to begin with......it is not ok to mock or criticize any religion...it is a sad fact that each religion has to claim exclusive validity in order to have any relevance so mocking or dissenting towards these religions are the very causes that the radical elements use to act violently and recklessly in their defense of their faith

i agree! we had that problem at my school after 9/11. there was a christian prayer vigil and the minister said something about God being our answer...well there was certainly hell to pay! there were news stories about it for months. i think it's because our country was founded to find religious freedom...specifically christianity, people just feel like they are getting pressured to be a christian. maybe not, but that's what it seems. also, a lot of atheists/agnostics will hammer away at the point that God doesn't exist, but not many will carry on so much about buddha, or muhammad, or the deities that pagans worship (not 100% sure what that is). BUT, when it all comes down to it, i think everyone in some way shape or form believe in some type of intelligent force, and believing in that obligates them to live as if there is a God, so...they fight it and therefore live how they want to live. lol, i could be wrong....but i don't really think i am

I am Muslim and I tell u anything said against any religious symbol is sacrilige. I remember yelling at a Christian kid once for making fun of Jesus Christ, whom we consider a most beloved passionate messenger
Being opinionated and liberated does not mean that u r free to badmouth the beliefs of others. Your freedom should properly end at people's dignity before it turns into atrocities that call for a deterant response

Funny... Most christians are the ones who are intolerant of other religions or religious ideologies. Many hate atheists and refuse to simply agree to disagree about their beliefs on life.

You should see Morgan Spurlock's 30 days with an atheist living in the bible belt of Texas. Interesting show.

Because Christians are the majority in America, and in modern America, the minority must be catered to, for some reason. Plus Christians use the "turn the other cheek" mentality and are accepting as some other religions are not.

Um, sorry, yet mocking a hindu is in comparison to mocking Christ. Mocking Christ isn't RACIST (would you people PLEASE purchase a DICTIONARY!!!!) i do no longer mock Christ besides... so your "everybody" section is bs. =) i visit, besides the undeniable fact that, mock a Christian whilst they act hypocritical - preaching against one situation and then turn around and do this suitable situation they declare is sending everybody else to hell. i visit mock a Christian whilst they think of they'd step on others basically via fact the others can no longer look after themselves. "long term effects" - all those threats do no longer artwork on people who don't have self belief in Christianity. you in all probability does no longer take it heavily if a Pagan made a obscure possibility approximately you going to Hades (Greek delusion), would you?

Because christianity is the one religion where tolerance isn't even mentioned as a practise.

Whether they do it or not, other religions at least talk about it.

Christianity, catholicism, evangelism, judaism, are mocked because they are often times the bullies in the world.

It's because if your not with Christ your against Christ. So every other belief is actually believing the same whether they agree or not.

Besides we as humans tend to mock what we don't see as truth.

Christians are the most popular, and most of them aren't really Chrisitans. They are supposed to turn the other cheek! All religions are garbage, just trying to control your mind.
