No, there are no signs, it just happens. It feels kinda like a water balloon popped inside of you. You'll definitely know when it happens though. But sometimes it doesn't happen until you've been in labor for a while. My water broke before labor began with 2 of my 5, and the other three happened a couple hours after my labor had started. Everyone is different. Congratulations and good luck!!!!

It just happens. However it can trickle and even be a weird color if that is the case that is when the baby has had a bowl movement inside of you and when the water is breaking and the baby does that it is very dangerous they like to get the baby out asap after that. Just because your water hasn't broke doesn't mean your not in labor. Alot of times the doctor has to break your water.

my waters broke before labor with both my pregancys and both times it was a massive gush of water I couldn't control and I was having to change my sanitary towel every half an hour because it was soaked through, but I think it was my fore waters that broke, if its your hind waters I think you just have a slow trickle of fluid but its still alot, if your not sure ring the hospital because if your waters have broke and you dont go into labor on your own you will have to be induced they give you 36 hours from when they break to see if you go into labor naturally although you should still be given the option to be induced before then and you may need antibiotics as the baby can get an infection. My bump looked different it was alot smaller and looked like an egg.

It happens suddenly, but its not usually the first sign of labor. Many women have their water artificially ruptured in the delivery room. You'll feel labor pains (they feel like menstrual cramps) before hand. The reason that some people experience their water breaking as a surprise is that they don't recognize the initial signs of labor.

The sign that I know my water is going to break is when the doctor asks me to open my legs and sticks in a long plastic hook. I've never had my water break on its own, and for that matter I've never even gone into labor on my own either. Good luck!

It can happen at any moment without you knowing
Make sure you wear a long shirt of something that looks like a loose dress. When the water does break, it will go everywhere. No need for underwear either.

You'll know when your water breaks!! You'll feel like you peed of yourself by the water doesn't stop. You should go check the fetal movement though, just to make sure that everything is ok. But the nausea is normal.

theres really no sign that your water will break just maybe your mucous plug falling out but it all depends on your body. youll either gush out or leak slowly or nothing at all. even after your water breaking you might not start contractions they might induce labor or you might start contractions before your water breaks. every person is different and you just cant tell for sure. i had 3 girls and one boy and each one was different. i just remeber my midwife saying if you CAN stop it then your peeing, if you CANT stop it then your water broke. her suggestion helped because after my 1 daughter she had to be induced and i leaked slowly but no contractions. my 2nd daughter it gushed (they say that you dont stop producing water after it breaks) but still had no contractions had to induce. with my 3rd daughter i actually felt my contractions before THEY broke my water. with my son i felt it "pop" and i couldnt stop the flow. it wasnt a gush or a leak just a .... flow. then i had contractions. so every one is different. also all my children were born a month early.
