How old is he? Most guys would be delighted with some kind of computer game. If you want something more serious I'd say that a watch is the best present.

Sandhya, First of all it is a very vague question as you didn't mentioned about your / his age, your budget or his interest.
So the safest bet would be to present him an electronic item like a mobile or a watch or i-pod if your budget allows.
Give him something longlasting like a small crystal dove (available in any swaroski shops)
If you want it to make more personal. Give him an audio casette in which you can record all your close / funny / romantic moments spent together..
