Scottish schools start in August but children are often moving due to employment situations, family break-up etc. They can arrive at a school at anytime during the school year. Contact the local councils for a list of schools in your area and then visit them to see which one suits you best, some of the very, very good ones won't have any spaces but there's usually a few to choose from.
Good Luck with the move, hope it all goes smoothly!!

English schools in september, scottish schools in August. It depends where you live which school will be the "catchment" school for your address. My advice would be to find out just now which school your children will attend and contact the local education authority for the area. Explain to them that you wish to enrol your children, but they wont be arriving until novemeber and they will send out the paperwork and hold places in the school for them.

Yes, just go to see the head teacher at the required school and they will admit your children. It won't matter that it's later than the term start date.

in theory you can join any time in the academic year but the good schools are over subscribed. you should contact schools in the area now so at least you are on the list

Yes they will. Contact the school you want them entered in to and they will tell you all. As long as the school has spaces they will be able to join.

extreme college leads to 12 months 11. (once you're sixteen/15 once you're a july toddler) you initiate college in 12 months 12. college in 12 months 14. while you're 17 in would then you rather would be in college, no longer extreme college anymore. yet college is non-obligatory. (its obligatory for infants below the age of 14 now)
