When you are financially able to do so! I don't care if your 18 or 40, as a taxpayer, my ONLY concern is that I'm not paying for it!

The answer is different for everyone. It depends on what you want to do with your life. I had my first at 20 and my second at 23. There are pros and cons to both sides. Some people are ready early and some wait a long time.

The best age to have one is after you have been MARRIED for at least 2-3 years, so you both get to FULLY enjoy married life. So in essence, when is the best age to get married, I tell my 4 kids that they dont have boyfriends and girlfriends until they are at least 25, or have finished college. Oh yeah, they can have girls or guys they go out with, ahve fun with, etc... But until then, you are never fully commited to anyone, and the talk of children shouldnt even come up until after you are married, in a 100% commited relationship and most importantly are established in a career.
Besides for anyone to want to chop off their free time at such a young age is a totally bad thing. You can sit there and argue with me about how you know a friend who is making it and so on with no man, blah blah blah. Let me tell you, as a parent children need both a fully commited father and mother, not just to eachother, but also to their child. To think otherwise is ignorant and very irresponsible. In the long run, your children suffer, your social life suffers, your career suffers. I'm telling you, its not worth it to have kids at too young an age and then have yourself end up having to go back to mom and dad.
Take it from me, go have fun in life, enjoy your freedom while you can. Kids can wait, marriage can wait. You really do have your whole life ahead of you.

I had my son at 18 and I felt that was a good age because I felt i was ready. Honestly, I don't feel there really is a good age because you are never really 100% ready for a child, young or old. Once you are emotionally and mentally ready and of course financially stable and understand for the rest of your life it must be dedicated to your child then you are ready for a child. Honestly I think its best to at least be out of high school. I hope that answered your question....

Ideally -- When you and your partner are both committed to each other and are ready emotionally and financially for it.
Otherwise, it depends on the individual. Some would say no age is a good age, there are pros and cons to everything.
